Crystal Palace Finalize Ben Chilwell and Quinten Timber Transfers in Last-Minute Deals

Crystal Palace have secured the permanent signings of Ben Chilwell and Quinten Timber following last-minute submissions of deal sheets before the transfer deadline. These important acquisitions strengthen Pierre Sage's squad ahead of a demanding domestic season.

Late Transfers Bring Experience and Energy

Both deals were confirmed after the 23:00 BST deadline through official paperwork sent to the Premier League. Chilwell returns permanently to Selhurst Park from French side RC Strasbourg, while Timber joins on a five-year contract from Marseille. In addition to these two, Palace brought in Chilean winger Dario Osorio on a season-long loan from Danish club FC Midtjylland.

Chilwell Happy to Be Back in London

Following a productive loan spell that included winning the FA Cup in 2025, Chilwell expressed his excitement about returning: "It's amazing to be back. It’s great to see familiar faces again. I’m really looking forward to getting back out there with the boys and fans."

The 29-year-old left-back, capped 21 times by England, has previously played for Chelsea, Leicester City, and Huddersfield Town before spending last season with Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

Timber Strengthens Midfield Options

Adding to Palace’s midfield depth, Timber brings both skill and physicality. The 25-year-old Dutch midfielder, whose twin brother Jurrien is at Arsenal, has earned 13 caps for the Netherlands and appeared in this summer’s World Cup. His consistent performances in European competitions with Marseille mark this move as an important step into the Premier League.

Upcoming Fixture and Team Outlook

Pierre Sage’s squad will travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham in the Premier League this Saturday, hoping to bounce back from a tough start. After losses to Everton (2-0) and Manchester City (4-1), Palace is eager to claim their first points and win of the season. Quickly integrating newcomers like Chilwell and Timber will be key for stabilizing the team before the international break.
