Como transfer updates: Morata loan, Van der Brempt to Sassuolo, Ricci joins

Como are tearing into the final days of the transfer window with intent, trimming and reinforcing in equal measure after seeing their Champions League group laid out.

Morata Exits

The first big move is official: Alvaro Morata has left for Spain. The striker joins Leganes on loan, with an option to buy at the end of the season, a clear signal that Como are ready to change the face of their attack and lighten the wage bill.

Van der Brempt to Sassuolo

The defensive flank is changing too. Ignace Van der Brempt is on his way to Sassuolo, with multiple Italian outlets, including Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, reporting that the agreement is complete. It’s a loan with an obligation to buy, for a total package of €6.5m. A calculated cash injection for Como, and a long-term bet for Sassuolo.

Sassuolo had been tracking Rafik Belghali from Hellas Verona as well, but the winger now looks more likely to head to Torino, shifting their attention firmly onto Van der Brempt to bolster the right side.

Ricci Lands from Milan

While pieces move out, a significant one is coming in. Samuele Ricci arrived today to undergo medical tests ahead of his switch from Milan, a midfield addition that speaks directly to Como’s European ambitions.

The deal is structured as a loan worth €1.5m, with an option to make the transfer permanent for a further €22m plus performance-related bonuses at the end of the season. It’s a substantial potential outlay, but Ricci’s profile fits the project.

Milan had invested heavily in the midfielder just a year ago, paying €23m plus bonuses to prise him away from Torino. His time at San Siro never fully ignited: 34 appearances, one goal, and the feeling of an opportunity that never quite became a cornerstone.

Now Ricci gets a reset, Como get a conductor in the middle of the pitch, and a squad shaped for the Champions League starts to take its final form.
