Colin Dagba Joins Carrarese on Free Transfer to Strengthen Serie B Campaign
Carrarese have turned to top-level pedigree to steady their Serie B campaign, snapping up former Paris Saint-Germain right-back Colin Dagba on a free transfer.
The 27-year-old arrives after leaving Belgian side Beerschot on July 1 and has signed a long-term deal running until June 30, 2028. Built into that contract is an automatic extension clause, triggered if he hits specific performance targets. Carrarese are not just betting on experience; they are backing him to become a cornerstone of their project.
The club unveiled him with clear enthusiasm, underlining both his profile and their ambition. In their official announcement, they highlighted the qualities that once made him one of France’s most highly regarded young full-backs, describing the French defender as boasting “impressive attacking ability, pace, and prowess in attacking play.”
They were just as keen to stress that he is no luxury full-back who only comes alive in the opposition half. Carrarese underlined his defensive reliability too, noting that “at the same time, he is consistently alert and consistent in defense, especially in marking.” It is that balance – aggression going forward, focus at the back – that coach Gabriele Cioffi will hope to harness immediately.
Dagba’s CV brings a different weight to the Carrarese dressing room. He made 77 senior appearances for PSG across all competitions, including seven outings in the Champions League. In Paris, he collected three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies and two Trophee des Champions victories, before heading out on loan spells with Strasbourg and Auxerre to chase regular minutes.
