Chelsea's Omari Kellyman Joins Strasbourg Permanently

Strasbourg have completed the permanent signing of Chelsea attacker Omari Kellyman, in yet another transfer link between the two clubs under the BlueCo umbrella.

The deal includes a buyback clause for Chelsea and marks the 20th transfer between the sides since they came under the same American ownership group. It is also expected to be only the first move in a busy week of shared business.

Chelsea striker Deivid Washington is poised to follow Kellyman to the French club in a similar arrangement, with the London side retaining a measure of control over his future. On top of that, either midfielder Dario Essugo or winger Mykhailo Mudryk is in line to join Strasbourg on loan as the squads are reshaped on both sides of the Channel.

Kellyman, 20, arrived at Chelsea from Aston Villa in 2024 for £19m, a move that underlined how highly he was rated inside the club. But his time at Stamford Bridge never really started. A run of hamstring injuries repeatedly stalled his progress and he failed to make a first-team appearance.

Now he heads to Ligue 1 in search of the minutes and momentum that eluded him in west London, while Chelsea keep a watching brief through that buyback clause.
