Chelsea Attempts to Block Juventus Deal for Dutch Striker Joshua Zirkzee
Joshua Zirkzee, the Dutch forward currently at Manchester United, has reportedly given his commitment to join Juventus. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the striker is open to moving to Turin, but Chelsea have suddenly shown interest and are attempting to disrupt the transfer.
Juventus have monitored Zirkzee for a while, and a loan move with an option to buy seems increasingly possible this summer. The 25-year-old striker appears eager to sign with Italy’s most decorated club, yet Chelsea's interest introduces uncertainty.
Earlier this season, Juventus parted ways with Lois Openda, who moved on to play for Olympique Lyon in France. His successor, Randal Kolo-Muani, arrived from Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent deal.
Juventus also want to offload Jonathan David, the Canadian forward, before finalizing Zirkzee’s permanent signing. Yet, David is reluctant to leave Turin, which complicates the situation.
Zirkzee is willing to wait for Juventus, but only to a point. Despite shared intentions among the player, Juventus, and Manchester United, the transfer is not guaranteed to happen.
Recently, Zirkzee impressed during Manchester United's friendly match against BK Rosenborg. The striker skillfully dribbled past two defenders and the goalkeeper before scoring calmly.
