UEFA Champions League 2026-27: Complete List of Clubs in the League Phase

The UEFA Champions League returns for the 2026-27 season, bringing together elite clubs from across Europe to contest the continent's top club trophy. Paris Saint-Germain, having won the last two editions, aim to make history by capturing a third straight title — a feat only three clubs have ever managed.

Challengers include European powerhouses such as Barcelona, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Liverpool. Alongside these giants are newcomers like Italian side Como, making their first appearance in the Champions League group stage.

Qualified Teams Overview

A total of 36 teams will participate in the league phase. Twenty-nine clubs secured direct qualification, while seven earned their spots through playoff rounds.

The top four finishers in each of UEFA’s top four leagues qualify automatically. Additionally, three teams qualify directly from the fifth-ranked league, two from the sixth, and one each from leagues ranked seventh to tenth. Two extra slots, called European Performance Spots (EPS), went to England and Spain this season due to their clubs’ performances in the previous year.
