Aston Villa Sign PSG Starlet Mbaye for €55m
Aston Villa have landed one of Europe’s most coveted teenagers, striking a €55m agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for winger Mbaye after matching the French champions’ valuation.
The move, first detailed by The Athletic, is now being tied up, with the paperwork understood to be in motion as Villa close in on a marquee signing for Unai Emery’s evolving side.
Powerbrokers seal the deal

Senegal’s new star boy
Mbaye’s impact has not been confined to club football. After representing France at youth level, he switched allegiance to Senegal and made his senior debut for the African champions in November 2025.
He has since collected 15 caps and played a prominent role in Senegal’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations triumph, featuring in six matches during their run to the title. On the biggest stage of all, the 2026 World Cup, he started three games and scored against France on June 16 – a symbolic moment against the country of his birth and early development.
Such exposure, at his age, is exactly what appeals to Villa: a player unafraid of the spotlight, already tested in knockout football and high-pressure occasions.
