Arsenal Confirms Noni Madueke Will Not Leave in January

Arsenal have made their position clear: Noni Madueke is going nowhere in January.

Mikel Arteta still sees the 24-year-old as an important part of his squad at the Emirates, despite the winger’s almost non-existent role in the Premier League so far this season. Senior depth is non-negotiable in the middle of a gruelling campaign, and Madueke remains part of the plan.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal are ready to knock back any offers for the forward when the window opens. Interest is not in short supply. Frustration over his league minutes has alerted clubs across Europe, with Juventus and Atletico Madrid among those tracking his situation closely.

Juventus, in particular, are reported to be weighing up a mid-season loan to sharpen their attack. On paper, it makes sense: a talented winger short on minutes, a European heavyweight in need of a spark. In reality, it is a non-starter for now. Arsenal do not want to lose him, and the player is not pushing to leave.

Madueke is understood to be fully committed to fighting for his place in north London. No sulking, no shortcuts. He wants to stay, scrap for a spot in Arteta’s XI and prove he belongs in this squad.

The problem is obvious and unforgiving. On the right of Arsenal’s attack stands Bukayo Saka, the immovable first choice and one of the Premier League’s most reliable wide men. Behind him, highly rated teenager Max Dowman is beginning to knock on the door, staking his own claim for senior minutes.

That squeeze has left Madueke with just 24 minutes of league football this season, spread across two substitute cameos. No goals, no assists, and very little chance to build rhythm in domestic action.

Cup competitions have told a different story. Madueke started in the Community Shield, played in the Champions League win over Napoli, and found the net in the 4-2 Carabao Cup victory against Ipswich Town. When the stage has shifted away from the league, he has at least had room to breathe.

Even so, his reduced role has already cost him on the international front. Thomas Tuchel omitted him from the latest England Nations League squad, with a lack of match fitness and regular minutes counting heavily against him.

That raises the stakes for the months ahead. The winter schedule will be brutal, with fixtures stacking up across the Premier League, Europe and the domestic cups. At some point, rotation will not be a choice for Arteta, it will be a necessity.

When that moment comes, Madueke has to be ready. Every cup tie, every European night, every chance off the bench becomes an audition — not just to push Saka, but to drag himself back into England contention.

For now, the message from Arsenal is blunt. January is off the table. The next move is Madueke’s.
