Arsenal in Talks with Galatasaray Over Martinelli's €45m Offer
Arsenal have opened the door to a significant clear-out, holding talks with Galatasaray over the sale of several squad players in the current transfer window.
Among the names placed on the table are Gabriel Martinelli and highly rated youngster Ethan Nwaneri, with Arsenal understood to be inviting offers for both as they weigh up reshaping Mikel Arteta’s attacking options.
The headline proposal so far is for Martinelli. Galatasaray have lodged a verbal offer worth around €45m (£38.5m) for the Brazil international, a figure that underlines how highly he is valued across Europe. The move, though, is far from straightforward. Sources indicate there is reluctance from the 25-year-old to make the switch to Turkey, which leaves the Istanbul club with a major hurdle to clear if they want to push the deal over the line.
The talks have not been limited to outgoing Arsenal players. During discussions between the clubs, the future of Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has also been raised, adding another intriguing layer to negotiations. While no concrete agreement has emerged from those conversations, the inclusion of Osimhen’s name points to wider strategic thinking on both sides as they look at how their forward lines could evolve.
Martinelli has already been on the radar of Europe’s elite this summer. Paris St-Germain showed tentative interest in recent weeks as they scan the market for attacking reinforcements, but the French champions have since turned their attention to other targets, leaving Galatasaray as the most active suitor at this stage.
For Arsenal, the coming days promise more calls, more offers, and more decisions. For Martinelli, the question is simpler, and sharper: does his future still run through north London, or is this the moment his Arsenal story takes an unexpected turn?
