Tottenham Refuses Arsenal's Attempt for Romero

Tottenham have drawn a hard line in North London’s fault line. Cristian Romero will not, under any circumstances, be crossing it in an Arsenal shirt.

Yet inside the dressing room, and on the training pitch, the message from head coach Roberto De Zerbi remains clear: Romero is still in his plans until the moment he is not.

De Zerbi revealed this week that he has maintained direct contact with the defender.

“I texted with Cuti yesterday to make a plan for when he comes back to London but not for the transfer market,” he said. “That’s not my job. I know there are many solutions in the transfer market.”

The coach is planning pre-season sessions, tactical work, and leadership roles with Romero at the heart of it all, even as the club quietly prepares for a future without him.

Romero will report back to London shortly, walking into a club that has already made one thing crystal clear: he will not be wearing red in North London.
