From England Back to Australia
Overy spent two years developing within Manchester United's youth system before making the move back to Australian football. Sydney FC, last season’s A-League Men grand finalists, have kept the transfer fee undisclosed but emphasize the strategic buy-back option in the agreement.

The young full-back is focused on earning consistent senior minutes to strengthen his chances of being selected for next year’s Asian Cup squad. In a statement, Overy said, "I feel this is the right time for me to take the next step and play senior football. Overy hopes to follow the path of Paul Okon-Engstler, who broke into the national team before securing a move to FC Koln after shining at Sydney FC.
