Shea Charles Joins Fulham to Kickstart Premier League Career

Shea Charles has chosen Craven Cottage as the place where his Premier League story truly begins.

The 20-year-old midfielder has completed a move from Southampton to Fulham, signing a five-year deal with an option for a further year, as the club continues to reshape its core under Alvaro Arbeloa.

Charles arrives on the back of a standout season in the Championship. He made 38 appearances in all competitions for Tonda Eckert’s Southampton, scoring six goals and providing two assists as they fell agonisingly short of promotion. Those numbers, from a player who can operate in multiple roles across midfield, caught Fulham’s eye early.

By the time the paperwork was done, Charles could barely hide his relief.

“I am buzzing to finally get it over the line,” he told FFCtv, speaking with the urgency of a player who knows the next step matters. “The club has got a really good foundation from the bottom to the top.

“It is a great club with a really good vision, the manager explained that to me. It is a massive privilege to be here.

“I hope to really kickstart my Premier League career here, at such a good club as well. It is perfect for me and hopefully perfect for the fans as well.”

Fulham see more than just potential. They see a profile that fits the direction of the team: young, technically secure, already tested in senior football, and hardened by international duty.
