Rafael Leao stands at a crossroads. The AC Milan forward, long tipped for a move away from San Siro, has now spoken with a clarity that leaves little doubt: the door is open, even if he has not yet stepped through it.
The Portuguese was in Brazil for an event linked to his clothing brand when the questions inevitably turned from fashion to football. His answer cut through the noise around his future.
“We'd already talked to the Rossoneri about the possibility of going elsewhere. But as long as I'm with them, I'll give it my all,” he said, laying out the delicate balance between ambition and loyalty in a single line.

It was not the declaration of war some might have expected after a fractured season. It sounded more like a player trying to manage a clean break, if and when it comes.

On the pitch, the numbers tell only part of the story. Nine goals and three assists in Serie A would be acceptable for many forwards, but for a player of Leao’s talent, it felt short of what both he and Milan imagined.
