Ovie Ejaria, formerly of Liverpool and Rangers, has taken an unusual route in his search for a new team by posting on LinkedIn. The 28-year-old midfielder is currently without a club following his exit from Real Oviedo.
Free Agent Looking for the Right Fit
After making just eight appearances in La Liga last season with Oviedo, who faced relegation, Ejaria became a free agent. He openly invited clubs to contact him, highlighting his versatility across midfield and attacking roles.

Steven Gerrard Reflects on Ejaria's Time at Rangers
The London-born player had a loan spell under Steven Gerrard at Rangers during the 2018-19 season but ended it early, returning to Liverpool in December 2018. Gerrard expressed disappointment over his departure, telling the Glasgow Times: Am I disappointed he’s gone? Yes. Do I think it’s the right decision? No, because I think he had an incredible opportunity here.
Gerrard praised Ejaria’s performance in Rangers' Europa League play-off against FC Ufa in August 2018, where after a 1-0 home win, Ejaria scored early in the 1-1 away draw that sealed group-stage qualification.
Speaking to Rangers TV, Gerrard said: I thought he was magnificent and I think that is his strongest 90 minutes that he has given us so far. We have seen flashes before, but this was his first real excellent performance against a good team. He was excellent from start to finish.
