Morgan Gibbs-White Called Up to England Squad Replacing Cole Palmer
Morgan Gibbs-White has been summoned to join Thomas Tuchel's England team as a substitute for Cole Palmer, who is withdrawing due to load management concerns.
The Athletic confirmed on Monday that the Nottingham Forest midfielder would replace Palmer after his decision to pull out.
At 26 years old, Gibbs-White was enjoying a family holiday in Dubai following Nottingham Forest's 1-0 Premier League defeat against Coventry City on Saturday. He has since returned to England and will link up with the squad before the start of England’s Nations League fixtures.
Despite a strong start to the season and scoring 15 Premier League goals last year, Gibbs-White was not included in the initial 27-man roster. He holds six caps for England, having debuted at senior level in September 2024.
Details on Cole Palmer’s Withdrawal
Palmer, who has four goals and two assists in seven appearances for Chelsea this season, played the entire 90 minutes in Friday's 3-0 loss to Brentford before deciding to withdraw.
