Manchester United Negotiates Joshua Zirkzee Loan to Juventus
Manchester United are in advanced negotiations with Juventus over a deal that could see Joshua Zirkzee leave Old Trafford on loan with an option to buy this summer.
The Italian club have moved quickly for the Dutch forward after their pursuit of Randal Kolo Muani collapsed, with The Sun reporting that Zirkzee has now become a priority target in Turin. His representatives are understood to have responded positively to Juventus’ proposal, clearing a significant hurdle in the talks.
United, for their part, appear ready to cut their losses. They are prepared to approve a loan with an option to buy set at around £30 million, despite paying roughly £36.5 million to bring Zirkzee to Manchester in 2024. Club officials are said to feel that figure now reflects his market value after a stuttering spell in England.
The numbers tell the story. Zirkzee has scored just nine goals in 75 appearances for United, never quite nailing down a regular starting role. Last season he started only five Premier League matches under Ruben Amorim and Michael Carrick, slipping steadily down the pecking order as tactical plans evolved without him at the centre.
Interest in the 25-year-old is strong across Europe this summer, but Juventus currently lead the chase. Their need for a centre-forward is pressing. The Old Lady had been close to securing Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain after his underwhelming loan at Tottenham, yet negotiations with PSG broke down over the financial structure of the deal. Once that move stalled, attention swung decisively to Zirkzee.
For Juventus, he offers a different profile but a familiar résumé. Zirkzee already knows Serie A and Italian football’s demands, having previously spent a season on loan at Parma and two at Bologna. That experience lowers the risk: no adaptation period, no culture shock, no guesswork about whether he can cope with the league’s tactical intensity.
Zirkzee is open to the switch and to a fresh start at the Allianz Stadium. United, keen to reshape their attacking options and move on from an experiment that never fully ignited, now stand ready to let him go—if Juventus are willing to meet their terms.
