But Diomande remains the crown jewel. And Liverpool have made one last, sharp attempt to change his mind.
Liverpool’s late push meets a closed door
Graeme Bailey has revealed that Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City all made late approaches for the Ivorian. Only one of those clubs had already laid down a nine-figure bid. Only one had built their summer plan around him. Liverpool’s interest was the most concrete, the most committed.

His direct involvement with Red Bull’s hierarchy has accelerated talks. Leipzig, who had been holding firm against Liverpool’s advances, are now increasingly resigned to losing their star winger. Internal acceptance has given way to a new reality: Diomande is closing in on a move to Paris.
Sources close to the discussions believe an agreement is drawing near. PSG are ready to go beyond Liverpool’s rejected offer and are prepared to pay around €110m (£93.5m) to secure the transfer.
