Liverpool have finally put their cards on the table. After weeks of positioning and private briefings, the club have lodged a huge offer to prise Bradley Barcola away from Paris Saint-Germain, a move that would smash the French champions’ record for an outgoing transfer if accepted.
The bid, revealed by journalist Achille Ashe, stands at €105m plus €15m in bonuses for the France international. PSG are weighing it up. The tone out of Paris is no longer dismissive; the deal is now close enough to their demands to be taken seriously, and the prospect of Barcola leaving grows stronger by the day.
A slow summer, a brutal exodus
Liverpool’s window had been meandering. While rivals moved early and aggressively, the Reds’ business consisted only of deals for Osasuna’s Victor Munoz and Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet. Solid additions, but hardly the kind of moves to calm a fanbase watching key pillars walk out the door.

Convincing PSG is another matter.
Ben Jacobs, a well-sourced voice on the deal, outlined the scale of the challenge. Liverpool, he said, have held only preliminary talks with PSG so far, with formal club-to-club negotiations still to be fully activated, though that is expected to change quickly. Barcola is Liverpool’s leading attacking target, but everything hinges on price.
PSG’s starting point? A staggering €170m.
Liverpool consider that figure “inflated and unrealistic”. They tried to sign Barcola last summer when he was valued at around €85m and have no intention of paying double that now. From Anfield’s perspective, PSG’s stance has been shaped by this summer’s market, with eye-watering fees for Elliot Anderson at £116m and Morgan Rogers at £117m being used as reference points in Paris.
Even so, Liverpool see leverage. Barcola wants to leave. He has two years left on his contract. Inside the club, the feeling is clear: if PSG refuse to deal now, they risk facing a far lower fee in 2027 with a player who has no desire to extend.
That is the context for Liverpool’s latest move. A €120m package that doesn’t meet PSG’s initial demand, but lands close enough to test their resolve and force a decision.
A record on the line
If PSG accept, it would mark the biggest sale in the club’s history. For Liverpool, it would be a thunderous statement that they intend not just to patch over the loss of Salah, but to reshape their attack around one of Europe’s most coveted young wingers.
The bid is now “under review” by PSG’s hierarchy, according to Ashe, with negotiations ongoing. The Parisian club know Barcola’s stance.
