Liverpool Prepare Record-Breaking Bid for Barcola as PSG Talks Heat Up

Liverpool are ready to test Paris Saint-Germain’s resolve with an opening offer for Bradley Barcola, as the club moves decisively to land a marquee winger before the new season.

The 23-year-old France international has emerged as a leading target as Liverpool look to inject proven quality into Andoni Iraola’s forward line. The recruitment plan had initially pointed towards Yan Diomande, but that pursuit has effectively ended, with the RB Leipzig winger now set for Real Madrid after PSG withdrew from negotiations.

So attention has turned fully to Barcola – and the numbers around him are enormous.

PSG have placed a valuation of around £145m on the forward, a fee that would smash the British transfer record.

Barcola has two years left on his deal with the European champions, yet his situation in Paris is far from settled. Having slipped down Luis Enrique’s attacking hierarchy, he is understood to have rejected an offer to extend his contract.

That hesitation has opened a door. Liverpool have spent recent weeks quietly sounding out Barcola’s camp, gauging whether he would be willing to swap the Parc des Princes for Anfield. The response has encouraged them. With signs that the player is keen on a move to the Premier League, Liverpool are now expected to formalise their interest with a bid in the coming days.

The key question is obvious: how far are Liverpool prepared to go?

Meeting PSG’s full valuation would require a level of financial commitment rarely seen from the club, even in the post–record revenue era. Yet there is a clear sense inside Anfield that this summer needs a statement, a signing who not only elevates the team but underlines Liverpool’s intent to stay in the thick of the elite.

Barcola, if they can prise him away, is the player they want that statement to be.
