Karim Adeyemi Awaits Camp Nou Presentation

Karim Adeyemi will have to wait for his first taste of Camp Nou tradition.

When Barcelona unveil a new signing, the script is usually familiar: doors open, cameras roll, and a sea of fans spills into the stands to greet the latest arrival as he juggles a ball on the pitch. It is part ceremony, part statement of intent.

Adeyemi, fresh from Borussia Dortmund and officially a Barça player since last week, has not had that moment yet.

The delay has nothing to do with paperwork or fitness. It has everything to do with the World Cup final.

Spain’s 1-0 extra-time win over Argentina pulled the club’s powerbrokers away from Catalonia. President Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco travelled to the showpiece and, according to Mundo Deportivo, will not be back in Barcelona until Tuesday.

Without them, there is no presentation. Not at a club that understands the symbolism of such days.

So Adeyemi waits. The plan now is clear: his introduction to the press and the supporters is scheduled for Wednesday, 22 July, at the stadium, where the spotlight will finally be his alone.

Barcelona had hoped to wrap up the deal before the weekend, drop him straight into Hansi Flick’s training sessions, and roll seamlessly into pre-season with their new 24-year-old winger already embedded in the group.

The World Cup final forced a pause. On Wednesday, the Camp Nou – and Adeyemi – pick up the story again.
