Kalvin Phillips Set for Sheffield United Loan, PSG Near Deal for Monaco's Akliouche
Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips appears poised for a second loan spell at Sheffield United. Since moving from Leeds United in 2022, the 30-year-old has struggled to find consistent playing time, making just 32 appearances for City. His involvement has been limited this season, with only one appearance after the 2023-24 campaign, including loans to West Ham United, Ipswich Town, and Sheffield United.
Phillips featured just three times last season for the Blades due to a knee injury but is expected to rejoin them soon. Reports from the Manchester Evening News suggest confirmation of this loan move will come in the next few days. Despite having two years left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium, he was excluded from City's preseason squad as the club prepares for his departure.
PSG Closing in on Monaco Attacker Maghnes Akliouche
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly finalizing a deal to sign Monaco forward Maghnes Akliouche, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The 24-year-old had attracted interest from clubs including Liverpool, but talks have now advanced significantly with PSG.
Akliouche has made 139 appearances for Monaco across all competitions, scoring 23 goals and providing 28 assists. Last season, he managed seven goals and 11 assists in 43 matches. He also boasts experience in the Champions League, contributing three goals and five assists over 20 games. Primarily a right-sided attacker, he can perform across multiple positions in the final third.
Middlesbrough Discuss Loan for Everton Goalkeeper Mark Travers
Middlesbrough have opened negotiations with Everton about bringing goalkeeper Mark Travers back on loan. The Republic of Ireland international played 17 times for Boro during a previous loan spell in 2024-25.
After transferring from Bournemouth to Everton last summer, Travers saw limited action, making only two appearances behind Jordan Pickford. Reports from Football Insider indicate that Middlesbrough are seeking to secure him on loan for the 2026-27 season. Travers reportedly wants to leave Everton to find regular first-team football. Wrexham have also shown interest in the goalkeeper, who made 82 appearances for Bournemouth before joining Everton.
