Juventus and Inter Milan Consider Frattesi–Gonzalez Swap

Juventus and Inter Milan are testing the waters on one of the summer’s more intriguing possibilities: a straight swap that would send Davide Frattesi to Turin and Nicolas Gonzalez to the Nerazzurri.

Two clubs, two needs, one potential solution.

Spalletti’s target: Frattesi

Juventus have had Frattesi on their radar for a while, with Luciano Spalletti pushing for a reunion. The coach sees the midfielder as a piece who can immediately raise the level of his squad, and the club has stayed alert to any opening that might bring him in.

Frattesi offers energy, vertical runs and goals from midfield – exactly the sort of profile Spalletti has built teams around in the past. Juventus know that buying him outright from Inter would be complicated and expensive. An exchange deal, though, changes the equation.

Inter’s answer: Nicolas Gonzalez

On the other side of the table, Inter have zeroed in on Nicolas Gonzalez as they look to refresh their options out wide. The Argentinian has grown into a reliable, high-impact winger over recent seasons and is viewed inside the club as a player who can deepen and diversify their attack.

According to Calciomercato, initial talks between the two clubs have already taken place, with Frattesi and Gonzalez at the heart of the discussions. Juventus see an opportunity to give Spalletti a player he knows how to maximise. Inter, for their part, see a chance to land the winger they have been missing.

The pressure on both sporting directors is obvious: improve the squad without blowing up the budget. A swap ticks that box.

Gonzalez ready to move on

The same report underlines another key factor: Gonzalez’s stance on his future. After performing well on loan at Atletico Madrid last season, he has made it clear he does not want to return to Juventus.

That position pushes all parties towards a permanent solution. Including him in a swap becomes more than just a clever idea on paper; it starts to look like the cleanest exit strategy for Juventus and the fastest route to a new winger for Inter.

If the numbers line up, nobody loses face. Everyone moves on.

The valuation gap

That “if” is doing a lot of work.

Juventus intend to tread carefully. Inside the deal lies a hard reality: Frattesi and Gonzalez do not carry the same market value. Any agreement must reflect that difference before the Bianconeri sign off.

For Juventus, that likely means pushing for either a favourable valuation of Frattesi or an additional cash component on top of Gonzalez. They cannot afford to be seen as weakening their hand in a direct trade with a domestic rival, especially one competing for the same trophies.

Inter, meanwhile, will argue the importance and scarcity of high-level wingers and the immediate impact Gonzalez can bring to their flanks.
