Ipswich Town Unveils New Kits for 2026/27 Season
Ipswich have turned the Portman Road floodlights on a little early this year. The club have unveiled their new home and away kits for the 2026/27 Premier League season, pairing a sharp, modern design with a clear nod to history – and a sizeable gesture to the local game that feeds it.
Home shirt: under the lights
The home strip leans straight into the club’s matchday identity. Town say the design draws inspiration from those atmospheric evening games under the Portman Road lights, and you can see it in the detail. An emboss graphic runs through the shirt, mirroring the pattern created by the structure between the floodlights on both the Sir Bobby Robson and Sir Alf Ramsey Stands.
The base is classic blue, but it’s not a simple throwback. A navy trim shapes the neckline and sleeves, while white side panels cut down the shirt and flow seamlessly into a blue side trim on the white shorts. The socks stay true to tradition in blue, finished with a white and blue turnover.
It looks like a kit built for night games, even in daylight.
Away kit: a modern twist on a cult classic
The away strip reaches back three decades and pulls one of Town’s most distinctive looks into the modern era. It tips its cap to the 1996–98 cream and black ‘Abbot Ale’ away kit, but this is no replica.
Instead of the solid black vertical stripes of that late‑nineties shirt, the new design switches to horizontal red and black stripes across a cream base. The badge follows suit, rendered in red and black just as it was on that original cult favourite.
The shirt is paired with black shorts and black socks, each finished with a cream turnover. It’s bold, unmistakable, and built to stand out on Premier League grounds that have never seen Ipswich in this kind of colour palette.
Sponsors, supplier – and a looming change
Both home and away shirts carry the logo of main sponsor Halo across the chest, with Ed Sheeran’s Play tour logo on the sleeve, continuing a now-familiar link between the club and one of its most high-profile supporters.
Umbro produce the kits for a fifth straight year, but this is the end of an era. Town are understood to be switching supplier next summer, with Nike strongly tipped to take over. A third kit will follow once the season is under way, giving supporters one more design to add to a growing Premier League-era collection.
A launch with real local impact
This wasn’t just a photoshoot and a press release. Ipswich used the launch to put money directly back into the game across Suffolk, offering every club in the county a grant towards their youth team kit for the new season.
Representatives from around 40 clubs who have already taken up the offer came to Portman Road for the unveiling, sharing the stage with first‑team players from both the men’s and women’s sides. It turned a commercial moment into a statement about the club’s place in its community: the shirts on sale helping to fund the shirts worn by the next generation.
On sale – from mini-kits to 5XL
The full range is already available online and at Planet Blue. Men’s, women’s and youth sizes are all in stock, with adult sizes running from S through to 5XL and women’s fit from size 8 through to 20. Children’s mini-kits are also on sale.
Planet Blue opens from 3.15pm to 8pm today, then 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday, while the shirts will also be available at the Halo Festival at Trinity Park on Saturday.
Supporters will have to wait a little longer for one finishing touch. Shirt printing with names from the men’s and women’s squads will only begin once the club confirms the new season’s numbers – a small delay in a summer when Ipswich, back in the Premier League and dressed for the spotlight, suddenly feel very much on the front foot.
