Ferran Torres Nears Transfer to PSG as Barcelona Opens Door
Ferran Torres is moving closer to the Camp Nou exit, and this time it feels real.
At 26, fresh from the biggest goal of his career with Spain, the forward has reached a personal agreement with Paris Saint-Germain over a transfer, according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Deutschland. The player side of the deal is in place. Now it’s down to the clubs.
“Ferran Torres has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain,” Plettenberg reported, adding that this has been the roadmap “for several days already.”
PSG and Barcelona have started formal talks, the next decisive phase in a move that has been quietly building all summer.
The groundwork was laid weeks ago. Transfer specialist Matteo Moretto revealed last week that the Spaniard is open to joining PSG, and Barcelona’s stance has been clear enough: they are not fighting to keep him at any price. That softening of resistance has encouraged the French champions to step up.
PSG have been circling for some time. Negotiations over a new Barcelona contract for Torres, which runs until mid-2027, have reportedly stalled completely. Back in mid-July, Sky Italia outlined PSG’s interest and their willingness to do business with Barça. Since then, the lines of communication have stayed warm.
Barcelona’s position is pragmatic. Torres’ stock has risen sharply after his decisive extra-time strike in Spain’s 1-0 win over Argentina in the World Cup final, a goal that delivered the world title and instantly changed his market profile. The Catalan club want to cash in on that new status, even though his current deal still has one year left to run beyond this season.
For PSG, the timing is perfect.
Their attack is being reshaped. Gonçalo Ramos has gone to AC Milan. Lee Kang-in has joined Atlético Madrid. Bradley Barcola appears almost certain to follow them out of Paris, and doubts still hang over Ibrahim Mbaye’s future. The forward line that once felt overcrowded suddenly has gaps, and Torres offers a versatile solution across the front.
He is not the only name on their list.
Alongside the push for Torres, PSG are driving hard to sign Ajax winger Mika Godts. The left-sided talent has already agreed personal terms and is open to the move. As with Torres, the Paris hierarchy now have to find an agreement with his club, this time Ajax, to complete the deal.
Two negotiations, one clear intent: PSG are rebuilding their attack with players entering their prime, and Ferran Torres is now at the heart of that plan.
