Dybala's Contract Negotiations with Roma Continue

Roma and Paulo Dybala are locked in a delicate contract dance, and the music hasn’t stopped yet.

According to reporting from David Ornstein and James Horncastle of The Athletic, talks over La Joya’s renewal in the capital remain very much alive. Roma have already put a proposal on the table to Dybala’s camp, led by agent Carlos Novel. That first offer did not hit the mark and was met with a counter from the Argentine’s side, underlining how far both parties are willing to push to get their terms.

This is not a simple rubber-stamp extension. It’s a negotiation with real tension.

Roma want to keep their marquee forward, a player who has become a symbol of their attacking play and one of the faces of the project. Dybala, for his part, knows his value, both on the pitch and commercially, and has responded with conditions he feels match his status.

While the back-and-forth continues in Italy, eyes are fixed on the situation from across the Channel. One Premier League club is described as watching developments closely, ready to move if the talks in Rome collapse. No bids, no medicals, no airport sightings – just a clear stance: if Roma and Dybala cannot find common ground, there will be an opening, and at least one English side plans to be first in line.

For now, the ball is still in play between Roma and La Joya. The next offer, or the next refusal, could decide whether Dybala remains the centrepiece at the Olimpico or becomes the latest Serie A star to test himself under Premier League floodlights.
