Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez Officially Married in Private Ceremony

Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed his marriage to long-time partner Georgina Rodríguez. The football icon and the model exchanged vows in a private civil ceremony held on Tuesday in Cascais, Portugal.

The wedding took place exactly one year after the couple announced their engagement on Instagram in 2025. The intimate event was attended by their five children, marking a special family moment.

Announcement and Celebration

Ronaldo shared a heartfelt post on Instagram featuring a photo of the couple holding hands and showing their wedding bands, captioned simply: "C❤️G." This public confirmation followed speculation about a possible ceremony at Funchal Cathedral in Ronaldo’s hometown, which had drawn thousands of fans outside the church.

How Ronaldo and Rodríguez First Met

The couple first crossed paths in 2016 when Georgina Rodríguez was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. In her Netflix documentary Soy Georgina, she recalled that Ronaldo visited the store as a VIP client while she was supposed to leave work early that day.

"I was finally able to leave the shop to go home three hours later than I should have and as I was getting ready to leave Cristiano came in with his eldest son and some friends," Rodríguez said. "Let’s just say it was butterflies in my stomach."

From then on, their connection grew strong. Ronaldo often picked her up from work in his Bugatti after she arrived by bus, a stark contrast that amused her co-workers until she eventually quit due to the crowds her presence attracted.

Family Life and Children

Georgina Rodríguez embraced the role of parenting Ronaldo’s three older children—Cristiano Jr, Eva Maria, and Mateo—while also raising their two daughters together, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda.

The Engagement Story

In the documentary, Ronaldo explained why he hadn’t proposed earlier, describing the need to feel the right moment or “click.”

"I always tell her, when we get that click. Like everything with our life, and she knows what I’m talking about," Ronaldo shared. "It could be in a year or it could be in six months or it could be in a month. I’m 1000 per cent sure that it’ll happen."

Rodríguez mentioned how friends frequently teased her about the timing of the wedding, joking and singing Jennifer Lopez’s songs "The Ring" and "When" whenever the topic came up.

Now, that awaited moment has finally arrived.
