Chelsea Sets £120m Deadline for Man City to Sign Enzo Fernandez
The 2026 summer transfer window in the Premier League has already seen huge spending, particularly on midfielders. Enzo Maresca, starting his first season as Pep Guardiola's replacement at Manchester City after leaving Chelsea in mid-2025/26, is keen to reunite with Fernandez. The midfielder was a dependable performer under Maresca at Stamford Bridge despite some concerns about his temperament, including a red card in the World Cup final.
Fernandez offers versatility in midfield. Though rarely used purely as an attacking midfielder, he has contributed 31 goals and 29 assists across 167 appearances since joining Chelsea from Benfica in January 2023 for £106.8 million.
