Bournemouth Signs Portugal Defender Antonio Silva for £21.4m
Bournemouth have made a major move in the transfer market, completing the signing of Portugal international Antonio Silva from Benfica in a deal worth £21.4m, with a further £4.3m potentially due in add-ons.

The Argentine’s summer departure left a clear gap at the heart of Andoni Iraola’s defence, specifically on the left side of the central pairing. Bournemouth wanted a tall, strong, front-foot defender who could handle the ball under pressure and build from the back.
Silva fits that brief almost perfectly.
