Alexander-Arnold, who returned to the starting XI as one of five changes by Mourinho, provided the assist from the right wing.

The scoring was completed during stoppage time by substitute Arda Guler, who capitalised on a quick break involving Vinicius Jr. After a rapid exchange of passes, Guler tapped the ball in from close range to wrap up the win. Real Madrid dominated possession with 56.7% and took 19 shots compared to Malaga’s 14, showcasing their strength as title contenders aiming to dethrone Barcelona.

Mourinho Praises Bellingham and Team Chemistry

"He is an incredible player," Mourinho said about Bellingham. "He demands a lot from himself and others. I didn’t want to see him defend almost like a second left-back."

The manager also addressed rumors about tension among his attacking trio, dismissing those claims. "Very, very good players want to play together always, because they have the same speed of thought, the same quality and they always have to be compatible," Mourinho explained. "It was said that I didn’t want the three, but what I say is that I always want the best. There is empathy and collective work. They are all very good."

Speaking ahead of the match, Bellingham said, "I feel greater freedom again, greater freedom to decide when to drop back, when to push forward, or when to make runs into the box. I think this is the best position for me, as it allows me to show all my abilities."
