Barcelona's Youngsters Shine in 4–1 Victory Over Europa
Behind closed doors, with no crowd noise and little fanfare, Hansi Flick’s Barcelona slipped in a useful piece of pre-season business on Friday evening – and the kids took centre stage.
The 4–1 victory over Club Esportiu Europa will not echo through the club’s history, but for several youngsters, this was a night to remember, even if the stands were empty.
Flick’s First Glimpse of the Future
Flick went bold from the start. His first-half XI was strikingly youthful, wrapped around the experience of Andreas Christensen and new goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny.

Ebrima Tunkara restored the two-goal cushion, striking to make it 3–1 and effectively kill off any Europa hopes of a comeback. The final word went to Álex González, who added the fourth and completed a quietly emphatic scoreline.
No cameras, no roar, but plenty for Flick and his staff to note down.
Adeyemi Watches On
One notable figure did not kick a ball. New signing Karim Adeyemi was present but stayed on the sidelines, having only just joined up with his new teammates for his first training session earlier in the day.
His time will come. On this night, the stage belonged to others.

Barcelona now shift their pre-season work to England, where they will travel to St George’s Park for a training camp and another friendly next week.
