Chelsea are pushing hardest. Fernandez has made clear his desire to leave, and while Chelsea have slapped a £120m price tag on the 25-year-old and head coach Alonso has publicly stated he wants to keep him, the situation remains unresolved. Scott fits the profile of the next wave at Chelsea: young, technically gifted, and already proven at Premier League level. He is also seen as part of a broader refresh for Thomas Tuchel’s England squad following their painful World Cup semi-final exit to Argentina, with the midfielder among those earmarked to inject new life into the national team setup.
